Officer Jason Erickson
City of Manitowoc Police Officer Jason Erickson has
been selected as the Manitowoc Noon Rotary Officer
of the Year.
Officer Erickson has been with Manitowoc Police
Department since being hired as a patrolman in
March of 2009. His first assignment was to work the
midnight shift. His work ethic earned him the
opportunity to take on additional responsibilities as a
Drug Recognition Officer (DRE) and a member of the
Manitowoc County Special Operations Squad (SOS).
As a member of the multijurisdictional SOS team he
receives special training to help him safely find
resolution to the most dangerous and high intensity
police calls for service. He also uses this training to
help other officers improve their tactical responses.
Officer Erickson is always willing to share his insight or experience and serves patrol as a
Field Training Officer (FTO) for newly hired police officers.
In his nomination, Officer Erickson was described as having an attitude that cannot be
beaten. He has shown loyalty and forward thinking towards our department. He has a firm
but fair attitude when dealing with suspects and proactive in his approach to policing.
Officer Erickson handles the investigations of even the minor offenses with the proper
amount of concern and respect and treats them as though they were major offenses. He
completes his assignments with a smile and a winning attitude. He is a “team player” who
is always willing to volunteer for calls and help out his fellow officers and supervisors any
way that he can. His supervisors indicate that Officer Erickson is a model officer and a fine
example for other officers to follow.
