Rotarians reach out to promote medical independence.

For the seventh year in a row, a group of district Rotarians traveled to Guatemala to provide medical services.  On January 17th, an advance team of six boarded a plan at Chicago O'Hare to set up a clinic in Oliveros, a small Guatemalan village accessible only by boat that is near the El Salvador border.  Three days later, the rest of the team followed.  Comprised of many disciplines and backgrounds, they provided front-line services to more than 1,100 residents during the five days the clinic was open.

The group of 35 included a Two Rivers Rotarian, Brian Jensen.   Tales of the journey will be shared at the Monday, October 24th meeting of the Two Rivers Rotary Club.  Among the impressions formed on the trip is the first hand realization of Rotary's impact around the world.  This Rotary-sponsored trip underscores the importance of reaching beyond a local club to grasp what it means to be a Rotarian.
PRESIDENT JOE WILL BE ASKING FOR YOUR RSVP CLOSER TO THE EVENT.
